Moringa City Story
Moringa City has been around for eight (8) years, which is why it continues to be our alternative source of income and retirement job. This began with a dream my wife had seven years prior in which she saw us trading unusual seeds called moringa.
We took the dream seriously and began doing research online. Eventually, we were able to purchase 3kg from Tamale in northern Ghana. Around 88 cents (Ghc 10) for one kilo, which is less than one dollar. Also, our reseller commission was 44 cents (Ghc 5) per kilogram.
Fast forwarding to today, we currently sell, on average, approximately 10,000 kilograms of moringa seeds and 5,000 kilograms of moringa powder each year. We have mentored over 153 people across Africa and provided people with technical support, education, and promotions. In addition to 15 out-growers in Ghana, Moringa City has over 17 partner organizations throughout Africa.
Our academic mentors, including professors, doctors, and business consultants, Joyce Owusu of Ghana and Jeanette Dickson of Australia, made this possible.
Our goal for exporting moringa powder and seeds this year is 50,000 kilos each.
Happy eighth anniversary, Moringa City.
